Do heart patients fast?

Do heart patients fast?

There are cases in which fasting is allowed and cases in which it is not allowed.

First: Stable heart cases, which do not suffer from recurring symptoms such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, or irregular heartbeats... Fasting is often beneficial for these patients as it helps them reduce the amount of food they eat and also helps them stay away from smoking, which contributes to reducing the general risks resulting from heart disease. Therefore, they are allowed to fast, and of course, this is after consulting a specialist doctor and after he determines the appropriate doses and times during fasting.
Second: Cases that are not allowed to fast are critical and unstable heart conditions, which are:
1- Patients with congestive heart failure who need continuous medication throughout the day
2- Patients with recent heart attack who need blood thinners and other medications given intravenously continuously
3- Patients with unstable angina pectoris who may also need medications given under the tongue or orally
4- Patients who suffer from severe high blood pressure, which may require medications given intravenously or orally in repeated doses
5- Heart patients who have undergone recent surgeries and need medications as well as a recovery period after the operation that may reach a month or more
6- Heart patients who suffer from chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or kidney failure
7- Patients who are committed to medication doses or treatment regimens during the day (the fasting period) and cannot change them due to their health condition.

In conclusion, I would like to mention the verse (Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity), and every patient should consult a specialist cardiologist and refer to him... and not make things difficult for himself... because religion is easy...
