#angina pectoris what is it?
Angina pectoris is severe chest pain resulting from decreased blood flow to the heart muscle. When the heart muscle does not receive sufficient oxygen-rich blood, the symptoms of angina occur, which are:
- Chest pain, which can be described as a feeling of pressure in the center of the chest
- Pain in the arms, neck, jaw, shoulder, or back accompanied by chest pain
There are also some symptoms associated with chest pain, including:
- Exhaustion
- Shortness of breath
- Race
- Dizziness
*There are risk factors that increase the risk of developing angina:*
- Smoking
- Not exercising
-Excess weight
- Sugar
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
*How do we differentiate between chest pain during angina and esophageal reflux?? *
Chest pain is something that angina pectoris has in common with gastroesophageal reflux disease or indigestion, so many people confuse them.
The difference between them is in terms of symptoms.
*Symptoms of angina pectoris:
- Feeling discomfort in the neck, jaw or back
- Stabbing-like pain or a feeling of pressure in the chest
- The pain increases when you exercise or climb stairs
- It lasts for a short time, perhaps five minutes or less
-It disappears in a short time if you rest or use angina medication (sublingual pills).
*Symptoms of esophageal reflux:
- A burning sensation in your chest (heartburn), usually after eating, especially at night
- Difficulty swallowing
- Reflux of sour food or liquid (gastric juices)
*So it is always recommended
- See a doctor for examination and conduct the necessary tests
- Exercise regularly, abstain from smoking completely, choose healthy foods, and maintain general body health
